Very simply it is a meeting where Christians come together and hear the good news of salvation presented by someone who has a love for souls. If you watch the local news every day you will spend 30-45 minutes hearing about how bad things are. People are murdered, buildings burn, thieves break into houses, and children are neglected and abused plus many other sad conditions in our world. Would you like to hear some good news every day? Paul said, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek” (Rom. 1:16).
